Corinthian Integrated Library Systems
|
The development of Corinthian began in 2002 under the vision and direction of senior industry technologist Jack Blount, supported by entrepreneurial innovators in library automation technology, Steve Nielsen and Jim Wilson. The concept was to bring the latest enterprise technologies being used by Fortune 500 corporations like IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Aetna, Wal-Mart, General Motors, and others to the library community. Dynix began by interviewing more than 200 leaders in the library community, including directors, IT professionals, and staff librarians in academic libraries around the world, from Jordan to France and from China to the United States. Throughout the development process, Dynix has also worked closely with numerous large academic libraries around the world. Dynix assembled a team of seasoned librarians and software engineers with two chief architects to design and implement a truly state-of-the-art integrated library system for academic libraries. This team used their broad understanding of both large enterprise system software, and library standards and functionality to design a comprehensive, next-generation product. More than 120,000 man-hours of engineering and more than 40,000 man-hours of product management by librarians in developing requirements and workflows have resulted in the most high-performance, secure, flexible, feature-rich, and scalable ILS in the world. Corinthian is that solution. |
